Weekly Update: Gratitude, Growth & Courageous Steps Forward
Happy Friday!!
This week across campus has been filled with gratitude, celebration, collaboration, and courageous growth. As Teacher Appreciation Week ends and Mother’s Day approached, our studios spent time reflecting on thankfulness and the people who support and encourage us every day.
Primary Studio
This week in Primary, we shared many beautiful conversations about gratitude and thankfulness. With Teacher Appreciation Week and Mother’s Day this weekend, the studio has been overflowing with kindness and thoughtful gestures.
Thank you so much for all the sweet gifts, cards, drawings, food, and kind words this week. Your children are such thoughtful and caring humans, and it is truly a privilege to spend each day with them. 💕
Although Exhibition was canceled and we were unable to host our planned Used Book Sale, our community still came together and supported the fundraiser. So far, we have raised $45 toward replacing the studio doors! 🎉
📚 We will continue selling books out of the Primary Studio through the end of the year.
- Books are available for all ages
- Siblings are welcome to shop during free time
- All books are still just $1
Thank you again for your continued support!
ES Blue Studio
ES Blue had a fun-filled week celebrating major Read-A-Thon milestones! Learners enjoyed special celebrations at the movies and

The studio also continued diving into Quest work, where learners have been building and experimenting with their own marble runs, combining creativity, engineering, and problem-solving skills.
ES Green Studio
This week, the ES Green heroes collaborated during Tribe discussions to improve their GaGa Ball Contract, adding new processes to ensure gameplay remains fair, respectful, and fun for everyone involved.
Heroes also continued testing their Scratch online games, thoughtfully incorporating peer feedback and adding new features to strengthen their final projects.
Upper Levels Studio
Upper Levels took a huge step forward this week by polishing and sending their apprenticeship emails to admired leaders within the community.
Learners are hoping to secure:
- A 5-minute phone call
- An opportunity to pitch how they could add value
- Ultimately, an apprenticeship opportunity for Session 7
A few weeks ago, an Acton parent shared that one of the hardest parts of Acton is not always being in control. After watching these learners over the past week, that perspective shifted beautifully.
Acton is teaching these young people something powerful:
Not to fear failure.
Not to fear failure.
These learners are not afraid to:
- Send the email
- Make the phone call
- Hear “no”
- Try again
They are learning resilience, courage, and the confidence to keep moving forward even after rejection—and that is a skill set that will serve them for life.
